Bucket List

Everyone has a bucket list. Everyone except for me that is. I was reading a blog recently and the author was talking about her bucket list, so I decided it's time for me to write down mine. So here are the things I want to do before I leave this world...

1. Open a brick and mortar bakery
2. Have 3 or 4 kids
3. Travel to Africa, Europe and Australia
4. Appear on the Food Network (ha!)
5. Write a children's book
6. Teach cake decorating classes for kids

Yeah, yeah I know it's kind of a short list. I really couldn't think of anything else, but I'm sure I'll add more as time goes on.

Before I go I'll leave you with one of the cakes I made this weekend. I think that it's one of my favorites. (I say that about a lot of my cakes :) But really I like this one A LOT!

Cakes and Cards

The week has just started and I am one cake down and 2 cakes to go. I'm excited about a sort-of-busy cake weekend. Getting business is always great. The cake I made today was for a boy's 21st birthday. His mother wanted the cake to be embarrassing, so she ordered a boobs and bra cake, haha! I really had fun making this one!

Updating my Etsy shop has also been keeping me busy for the past couple of weeks. I'm trying to get all of my Valentine's cards done and posted, but I've been unsuccessful so far. Hopefully I'll be able to juggle the cakes and cards this week. Here's what I've been working on so far...

I love this way these came out! They'll be in the shop by the end of the week!

New Year's Resolutions (a week late)

I know I'm about a week late, but Happy New Year! Hopefully your new year has started off with resolutions that you can actually keep. This year I've limited myself to only 3.

1. Blog at least once a week (we'll see how that one goes)
2. Add new items to my Etsy shop weekly
3. Eat healthy

This means I'll be posting my Etsy goodies here as well delicious healthy recipes. Oh and the custom cakes and sweet treats from my bakeshop are going to find their way on here too. So here's to 2011!

"I Love Lucy" too!

A couple of months ago, I got an email from a very sweet lady who was throwing a party for her sister, who was turing 50. She wanted a fantastic cake that included two of her favorite episodes from "I Love Lucy". I had so much fun creating this cake! But the best part was everyone's reaction to it. :)

Cakes for a Cause

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by a charity called Hope and Help. The charity is helping to end AIDS in Central Florida. Every year they host a Headdress Ball to raise money for their charity. I was asked to make dummy cake centerpieces for the tables, and in turn Hope and Help would advertise my business. My imagination was my only limitation, I just had to use the colors, pink, blue, yellow, green and purple. Here's what I came up with...

1. Sprinkles and Cupcakes
2. Henna Inspired
3. Confetti Birthday

I had so much fun making these cakes! I also found out later that my cakes were featured on the VIP tables and the event and my business will be advertised in the Orlando Sentinel because of it!!

Wow! Has it been that long?

I just took a peak at my blogger dashboard and I haven't written a post since February! Yikes! I need to rectify that situation immediately. :)

Well for a little update... I'm still baking away like crazy, but this time I'm doing it in Orlando. And I couldn't be happier about that. The orders have already started rolling in and I can't wait to share all the exciting things that are happening with you. So stay tuned!
